Meet Serendipity! Her name comes from the Persian fairy tale The Three Princes of Serendip, who made fortunate discoveries by accident; from the Arabic word Sarandip. She is the first painted casting from my newest resin edition called Bint Aisha. I wanted this first one to be very special, so I CM'd her mane. tail and forelock. She is unique and will stand out in any crowd. Karen Caldwell painted her in one of her prettiest soft, dappled chestnut with verigated flaxen mane and tail. She was made to compliment the Jahangir resin and will have a foal to follow shortly, making her the second edition in this family trio. Karen put countless hours of extra hand painting on her to bring out all the subtle details. I added loads of soft veining to accentuate her ultra fine skin. Since I sculpted her as an Egyptian Arabian, I wanted her painted with the dark skin showing through all the areas where she would shed her hair in the summertime. She has a lovely snip and four low white feet and realistically painted hooves, even on the under side. I am extremely pleased with how she turned out and spent a lot of time working from life with my Purebred Arabian mare, Radiant Windsong (Melody). Since Melody is 14.3 hh tall, I proportioned the resin to reflect this size for a 1/9th scale model. Many models are under or over sized, but I wanted her to be truly to scale for 1/9th scale. She is tack friendly even for costume or Western. I took her to her first show on 07-09-05 for the Moscow Model Mania All Halter Show and she came home with two NAN cards for two halter classes, breed and color! She's quite a gal and is already living up to her name!
