The idea for this sculpture was in my head for several years and finally worked its way into an actual concept when I first laid eyes on the magnificent Hanoverian Grand Prix jumper, Robinson in the Show Circuit magazines. After my first meeting with Robinson's owner and syndicate manager, Richard Spooner, we both decided it would be a fitting tribute to do a commission of this great horse. I took three separate trips to LA (Good ole' downtown Burbank to be exact at LA Equestrian Center) to work from life with the actual horse, which everyone who knows him affectionately refers to as "Robbie". I spent about a year off and on working on this commission and finally finished him up in the fall of 2003. The original wax went through many transformations until it finally became the horse. At this point, I cut up the original wax model and made the waste mold for creating the Master Resin.
