In 1990, we had a 100 year flood. In 1995, we had a 500 year flood. This year, are we looking at a 1,000 year flood? The term "record severity" has been used to describe the recent flooding in Western Washington on November 7, 2006. The Governor declared most of the counties in Washington State a disaster area from the record flooding. These photos represent a sampling of the flooding a few miles from our house. We are landlocked at this point and cannot leave until the waters recede. The only way out is by boat or helicopter.
